I believe today is a three-things-day. So, without further ado:

(1) The first post of a new series I'll be writing for Tor.com (alongside Niall Alexander) has gone live: the Short Fiction Spotlight, which is exactly what it sounds like. Discussions of new (and occasionally old) short fiction, ahoy.

(2) Apex Magazine is running their Story of the Year poll. As you may remember, I had a piece in Apex this year: "Winter Scheming." There were plenty of other stories I loved, too, including and not limited to Kat Howard's "Murdered Sleep," Genevieve Valentine's "Armless Maidens of the American West," and Shira Lipkin's "Splinter."

(3) I have been getting my Liverpool paperwork sorted--one frustrating step as a time. I now think they have all of the documents they need to officially accept me for the 2013-14 term. That process has been a nightmare--stuff lost in the post more than once, etc etc. If this bit was the last bit, I'll soon be able to start the applications for housing. And also, we're still working on getting our fucking passports, but that's a story for another time.
